Day 165: Vienna

Saavuttiin Wieniin puoli kaheksan aikaan aamulla, herättiin kun konnari tuli ystävällisesti herättämään että nyt oltais pääteasemalla. Kimpsut ja kampsut kamaan ja hostellille. Perillä huomattiin että respa aukee vasta yheksältä, eli joku puolisen tuntia me siinä istuttiin. Check-in alkoi oikeesti vasta klo 14, mutta respan nainen päästi meidät jo aamulla majottumaan. Koska hostellissa oli tosi tyhjää, saatiin vielä ”ylennys”: oltiin varattu 6hlö dormitoriosta sängyt mutta saatiinkin 4 hengen huone meille käyttöön.  Heitettiin kamat sisälle, käytiin pikasesti suihkussa ja lähettiin ettimään aamupalapaikkaa. Aika nopeesti löydettiin kiva marokkolais-tyyppinen ravintola joilla oli tarjolla aamiaista. Tilattiin semmoset, eli ihan järkyttävä määrä ruokaa :D istuttiin siis aika pitkään siellä ja nautiskeltiin herkuista, ennen kun suunnattiin kaupunkikierrokselle.

We arrived in Wien at half past seven in the morning and we were woken up by some train staff who politely let us know that it’s the last stop. We took our stuff and rushed out of the train, and headed to the hostel. There we realized that the hostel doesn’t open before 9am, so we had to wait about half an hour. Then we got to the reception but we knew that the check-in wouldn’t start before 2pm. Even though, the lady at the reception let us accommodate already. She also told that there were not that many people in the hostel and thus she gave us a 4-bed room even we had booked beds in a 6-bed dorm. We took our bags to the room, took a quick shower and went out for breakfast. Quite quickly we found a Morocco-styled restaurant and they served breakfast. We ordered it and of course it was way too much to eat haha. So we sat there for a while before going for a city tour.

Puoliltapäivin nähtiin keskustassa Annan vaihtarikaveri Steffi, joka näytti meille kaupunkia. Kierrettiin kaikkia tärkeimpiä turistikohteita kattomassa, mutta ainaki allekirjottaneelta meni vähän ohi kun oli nukkumaton yö alla. Jonkun ajan päästä mentiin Tonavan varrelle semmoseen kivaan baariin, missä oli kunnon aurinkotuolit ja kaikki. Juotiin siellä yhet juomat ja lähettiin kävelemään takasin kohti meidän tapaamispaikkaa. Kyseltiin Steffiltä vähän neuvoa että missä vois pestä pyykkiä, ja muuten että mitä Wienissä kannattais tehdä. Saatiin hyviä neuvoja seuraavalle päivälle ja sovittiin vielä että nähdäänkin ennen kun me lähetään pois. Me suunnattiin seuraavaksi siis hostellille, ja pienen välikuoleman jälkeen itsepalvelupesulaan pyörittämään pari koneellista. Käytiin me oluilla siinä välillä kun odoteltiin.. :P Sitten pyykkien kanssa hostellille ja levitettiin ne aika kiitettävästi ympäri huonetta kuivumaan muiden tavaroiden sekaan. Sitten laitettiin vielä gourmet nuudelisafkat ja sitten pikkuhiljaa ansaituille yöunille!

Around noon we met Anna's exchange friend Steffi in the city and she showed us around. We wen to see all the most famous tourist attractions and I have to say that at least I was sooo tired that I can't really say which was what. After a while we went to have a drink by the river in a cool bar with sun bathing chairs and everything. We had drinks there and then went back to the place where we met first. We got some really nice tips from Steffi what to do the next day and also she told where we could do some laundry. So, we went back to the hostel and after a little chill out we went to the laundry place. And of course while waiting we had beer haha. After doing laundry we went back to the hostel and put them to dry all over our room hah. Then, cooking some oh so delicious noodles and then sleepy time!
