Day 39: Moving!

Torstaina aamulla mentiin vielä kerran agencyyn kirjoittamaan sopparit, tapaamaan kämpn omistajaa ja maksamaan takuuvuokra + ekan kuun vuokra. Voin kertoa että vähän jänskätti kävellä mestoille kaupungissa joka on tunnettu ovelista taskuvarkaista, kun laukussa on semmoset rapeat 740 euroa käteistä. Pääsin perille ehjin nahoin ja kaikki rahat tallella, hehe. Agencyssa meni tunnin verran, luettiin sopimus läpi (espanjaksi), keskusteltiin omistajan kanssa (no hablo ingles, ei osaa enkkua....) ja vaihdettiin rahat avaimiin. Toimistolta lähettiin Emmin ja Kontxin vanhaan kämppään vielä hakemaan niiden viimeset tavarat ja vähän siivoilemaan niiden huoneita. Tietysti just kun alettiin roudaamaan niitä laukkuja, alko satamaan kaatamalla. Perus meikän tuuria. Kämpillä purettiin tavaroita kaikessa rauhassa ja alkuinnostuksen jälkeen todettiin että täällä on ihan _jäätävän_ kylmä. Vanha talo, ei minkäänlaista lämmitysjärjestelmää.. Noh, kaivettiin varastosta tommoset liikutettavat patterit huoneisiin. Niitäkään ei vaan voi kauheesti käyttää, koska sähkö on täällä ihan pirun kallista ja  jos me kulutetaan yli sen mitä me maksetaan, yli jäävä summa otetaan takuuvuokrasta. Ei kiva. 15.30 alkoi taas tunnit, minne suunnattiin Emmin kanssa yhtä matkaa!:)

On Thursday morning we went to the agency, once more., to sign the contracts, to meet the owner and to pay the deposit + first month's rent. I tell you that I was pretty nervous to walk to the agency in a city which is famous for it's pocket thieves while carrying 740 euros cash with me. But I survived :P At the agency we read the contract (in Spanish), talked with the owner (in Spanish, she can't speak English at all, surprise) and changed our money to the keys. Next destination was Emmi's&Kontxi's old apartment where we cleaned a little and picked up their last bags. And of course when we finally started to move the bags to the new place, it started to rain as... well you know. Just my luck. At the new place we put our things in order and after the first excitement we realized that it's bloody cold in the apartment. Old house, no heating system. We dragged these little heaters to our rooms to help a little but we can't use them too much because the electricity is veeeery expensive here. And if we use it more than we pay for it, the rest will be taken from our deposit. Not so cool. 3.30 we had classes again and we walked to school together with Emmi!:)

Koulusta käveltiin vielä kerran Emmin vanhalle kämpälle. Omistaja tuli käymään siellä palauttamassa takuuvuokran ja ottamasssa avaimet tytöiltä pois. Sieltä lähettiin yhtä matkaa kohti Barcelonetaa, koska Martin halus järjestää "läksiäiset" mulle, eli suunnitelmissa oli vähän kokkailla ja viettää rauhallinen ilta. Meitä oli yhteensä 7 illallistajaa (minä, Martin, Emmi, Susu, Teemu, Birte, David). Martin oli suunnitellut menun (ja toteuttanut, paitsi minä ja Emmi pilkottiin!!) johon kuului alkupalaksi kevätrullia, pääruuaksi riisiä ja kana-kookos-kastiketta ja jälkkäriksi hedelmiä ja suklaa fondue. Oli ihan törkeen hyvää, kaikki. Vähän alko harmittaa että pitää muuttaa pois ;P Vähän ennen puolta yötä Martin heitti meidät autolla uuteen kotiin. Siinä iltatoimia tehdessä ihmettelin kun vessasta ei tullut lämmintä vettä, mutta en kiinnittänyt siihen sen enempää huomiota.. Mentiin ajoissa nukkumaan koska seuraavana päivänä oli tiedossa rankkaa shoppailua ;)

Afteschool we walked once more to Emmi's old apartment to give the keys back and get the deposit back. From there we went together to Barceloneta because Martin had planned a "farewell dinner" to me and my friends. We were 7 in total (me, Martin, Emmi, Susu, teemu, Birte, David). Martin had designed the menu and he also cooked it (except that Emmi and I cut the vegetables!!!) which included spring rolls as starters, chicken-coconut-sauce with rice as main and fruits & Chocolate fondue for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and for a while I didn't want to move out ;) Around midnight Martin drove us home. While I was brushing my teeth I wondered why there's no hot water but didn't make a fuzz out of it.. We went straight to bed because tomorrow we would be doing a lot of shopping!;)

Days 36-38: SCHOOL and more

25.-27.2.2013

Maanantaina aamulla meidän piti mennä jälleen agencyyn, tällä kertaa rahan kanssa. Ite nukuin pommiin (taas) mut onneks Emmi pelasti ja makso munkin osuuden! Meidän piti maksaa välityspalkkio/varausmaksu joka oli semmoset 170e per nassukka.. kivaa. Mutta tällä me varmistettiin että uus kämppä on varmasti meidän, ja kokonaan meidän! Päädyttiin nimittäin ratkasuun, että vuokrataan koko kämppä ensin kolmistaan (minä, Emmi, Kontxi) ja huhtikuussa Birte muuttaa neljänneksi. Tulee näin paljon halvemmaksi! Kämpästä lisää vähän myöhemmin. Agencysta menin suoraan koululle tekemään läksyjä, sitten tunnit 15.30-19.30. Financen tunnilla saatiin vaihteeks taas ryhmätyötehtävä ja tän lisäksi esseen tyyppinen yksilötehtävä.. siis pitääkö täällä opiskellakin?? Espanjan tunnit meni perinteisesti monttu auki ihmetellen että miks en tajuu mitään. Koulusta kotiin, perus hengailua ja nukkumaan.

On Monday we had to go to the agency once again, this time with money! 170€/each to "make a reservation" of the flat. On the other hand, this is how we made sure that the apartment is ours, and only ours! We decided to rent the whole flat first for the three of us (me, Emmi, Kontxi) and in the beginning of March also Birte will move in. It was way cheaper to take the whole flat than just ro by room.. But more about the flat later on! After the agency I went to school to finish some homework, then classes 3.30-7.30pm. At the finance class we got yet another groupwork assignment, yay, and also an essay type of individual assignment.. so we have to study here in Spain as well?:P Spanish class went quickly, I just sat there and wondered why I can't understand a word.. Maybe someday.. Next: home, basic hanging out and sleep!

Tiistaina ei tapahtunut mitään erikoista, paitsi rakkaan siskon synttärit tietty! <3 Juhlistetaan sitten yhdessä kun muutaman viikon päästä tuut tänne!:)En tosiaan muista tehtiinkö jotain erityistä.. Ei me taidettu.

On Tuesday I really didn't do anything if I remember correctly. Just school and stuff. Veera's B-day! <3 We will celebrate together when she comes here in a few weeks! But yeah, that's about it.

Keskiviikkona oli taas ihan tavallinen koulupäivä, 15.30-17.30. Koulusta suoraan kotiin ja aloin laittamaan ruokaa. Yhtäkkiä Emmi soittaa mulle, että hei, me saadaanki viedä meidän kamat uuteen kämppään jo tänään (alunperin muuton piti olla perjantaina)! Siinä sitte aloin pakkaamaan, skypettelin hetken ja jatkoin pakkaamista. Siinä kahdeksan aikoihin sitten nostin rinkan selkään ja otin ulkoota taksin kohti uutta osoitetta, Carrer de Viladomat 56. Emmi ja Kontxi oli mua vastassa alhaalla ja sitten alko tavaroiden roudaaminen kuudenteen kerrokseen. Ja talossa ei ole hissiä. Virallisesti meidän kämppä on neljännessä kerroksessa, mutta paikalliset ei laske ensimmäistä kerrosta ollenkaan (0/B-kerros) ja toinen kerros saattaa usein olla esim. kellarikerros jota ei lasketa. Niinkuin meidänkin talossa. Noh, vietiin siis tavarat ylös ja hetken aikaa fiilisteltiin uutta asuntoa. Lähdettiin yhdessä kävelemään kohti metroasemaa mistä mä jatkoin Barcelonetaan ja Emmi&Kontxi kotiin metroaseman kulmille. Viimestä kertaa iltapalaa ja nukkumaan nykyisessä kämpässä :)

On Wednesday we had a normal day at school from 3.30pm till 5.30pm. I came straight home and started cooking when suddenly Emmi called me that we can move our stuff already today to the new apartment (originally it was supposed to be Friday)! I started packing, skypeing and eating at the same time and around 8pm I was ready. I took the backpack and took a taxi to the new address. Carrer de Viladomat 56. Emmi&Kontxi already waited for me there and we started to carry my bags upstairs to the 6th floor, no elevator. Officially our flat is on the 4th floor but they don't count the first floor at all and the next floor can sometimes be a cellar floor etc which is also not counted. Like in our house. Well, we took the stuff upstairs and hang out for a while. We walked together to the metro station where from I continued to Barceloneta and the girls to their home nearby. I had some food and I went to sleep, for the last time in the Barceloneta apartment!:)

Days 31&32: "Football" and friends

20.-21.2.2013

Keskiviikkona mun piti herätä oikeestikin aikasin, koska klo 10 mun piti olla Habitatge Jovenin toimistolla koulun lähellä. Käytiin Cecilian (meidän "kiinteistövälittäjä") kanssa juttuja läpi tulevasta kämpästä, sopimuksesta ja niin edelleen. Seuraavat treffit on maanantaina, jolloin pitää maksaa välitysmaksu ja saadaan vissiin lisää jotain infoa.. Osa puheesta tuli espanjaksi niin meni vähän ohi mutta onneks Kontxi oli mukana ja varmisti ettei meitä huijata ;) Toimistolta menin koululle ensin vähän tekemään omia kouluhommia ja yheltä meillä oli taas Susun ja Camillen kanssa "Doing Business in Spain" tapaaminen ennen tunteja. Tällä kertaa ehittiin lounaallekin ja voin vaan todeta että onpas ikävä BarLaurean kouluruokia.. Otin päivän pastan + juoman (vettä) joka maksoi 3,90€. Ja tää pasta oli siis makaroonia jonka päällä oli parmesaania ja vähän ruokakermaa kastikkeeks. Joopajoo. Tästä eteenpäin taidan tehä omat eväät mukaan. Lounaalta DBS tunnille ja sen jälkeen oisin päässyt kotiin, mutta jäin koululle vielä vähän harjottelemaan espanjaa ja odottamaan Emmiä ja Birteä joilla oli vielä tunnit 19.30 asti.

Mulla tais olla tämmönen joskus pienenä... :)

On Wednesday I really had to wake up early because we had to be at the flat agency at 10am. We had a conversation with Cecilia about the contract, and the flat in general. Fortunately we had Kontxi with us because some of the text (and Cecilias speech) was in Spanish. After maybe 40minutes we were done and I went to school to finish some homework. We also had a group meeting for Doing Business in Spain and this time we had enough time to get lunch before classes. I just have to say that I really miss the food in Laurea... I took the pasta of the day+drink (which was water) and it was 3,90. And the pasta was just pasta with parmesan-cheese and a little bit of cream.. Yay. Next time I will bring my own food with me :P After lunch we had the DBS. I didn't have more classes but I stayed at school to study Spanish and to wait for Emmi&Birte who had classes until 7.30pm.

Koululta lähettiin ensin semmoseen paikalliseen Tiimariin hakemaan Birtelle pyyhettä halvalla. Se kauppa olikin isompi kun luultiin ja siellä vierähti tovi jos toinenkin.. Ostettiin mm. uuteen kämppään jokaisen oveen söpöt kirjaimet että tiedetään mikä on kenenkin huone hihi ^^ Kaupasta lähettiin kohti Belushi's nimistä sporttipubia minne mentiin kattomaan Milan -Barca ottelua. Syötiin ja katteltiin matsia joka päätyikin Barcan kannalta vähän huonommin.. Pelin jälkeen oltiin kaikki niin poikki että lähettiin vaan nukkumaan!

From school we went to this little shop where you could find almost anything.. Birte needed a towel but in the end we bought something totally different.. Little letters to our new flat to make sure everyone knows which room is whose :P From that shop we went to a sports pub called Belushi's to watch Barca's game. We ate, drunk and watched the game which did not end up very well, and then we just went home to get some sleep!

Torstaina heräsin aikasin että kerkeen kauppaan & laittaa ruokaa ennen koulua. Kerrankin onnistuin heräämään ajoissa :P Taas perus 15.30 kouluun, torstaisin on vaan yhet tunnit joten pääsin taas jo 17.30 pois. Kotimatkalla tuli kauhee nälkä mutta päätin silti että nyt kerrankin kun on kamera mukana, käyn ottamassa vähän kuvia tässä mun kämpän lähistöllä:) Kotona söin ja jostain syystä olin tosi väsynyt, niin menin "päikkäreille" joskus seittemän aikoihin.. Heräsin muutaman tunnin päästä ja aloin valmistautumaan iltaa varten. Nähtiin porukalla klo 23 Universitatin metropysäkillä ja käveltiin yhessä pieneen tavernaan missä oli Erasmus meeting. Oli juomia, beer pongia ja ilmasta popcornia, jee. Siellä istuttiin pari tuntia ja siirryttiin lähellä olevaan klubiin nimeltä "Bling bling." Nimen perusteella olin vähän ennakkoluulonen mutta se olikin ihan kiva paikka:) Vähän klo 3 jälkeen yöllä lähettiin takseilla kohti koteja. Oli tosi kiva ilta:)

On Thursday I woke up early to go to the grocery&cook before school. And this time I really woke up to the alarm, yay! 3.30pm to school as always and 5.30pm off. On my way  home I took a few pictures near my place even though I was suuuuuuper hungry and just wanted to run home to eat! At home I got super tired and took a nap between 7pm and 9pm. I woke up and started to get ready for the night. We met at Universitat metro station with friends at 11pm and went to a Tavern to an Erasmus meeting. Drinks, beer pong, free popcorn haha. After a few hours we went to a club called Bling bling.. I was not sure what to think about the club because of the name but it ended up to be a quite nice place! Around 3.30am we took taxis home to get some sleep. It was a really fun night!:)

Day 26: Student house

Heräilin puolenpäivän aikoihin aika kirpakoissa tunnelmissa.. Olin sopinut asuntonäytön klo 15.30 Ravaliin ja ajattelin kävellä sinne, koska matkaa oli semmoset vähän päälle 3km vaan. Lähin hyvissä ajoin, tuntia aikasemmin, että on eksymiseen aikaa. Ulkona oli tähän mennessä mun mielestä lämpimin päivä. Hikoilin kun pieni sika. Kaikki meni hyvin Ravaliin asti, jossa sitte eksyin. Kävin pienestä kioskista kysymässä reittiä. Siellä(kään) ei puhuttu englantia, joten vedin espanjaks ja ne jopa ymmärsi mua! Ja mä ymmärsin ohjeet ja löysin perille :)

I woke up around noon and I was not feeling like the happiest person on this planet because of last night :P I had to go to see one apartment at 3.30pm in Raval and I decided to walk there because it's only 3km away. I left early enough, 1 hour before so that I have time to get lost. Everything went fine until I arrived in Raval and then I got lost. I went to this little kiosk to ask for directions and of course they didn't speak English.. Why would they... So I had to ask it in Spanish and they understood me and I understood them! Yay! 

Eli kämppä mitä kävin kattomassa on Ravalissa, joka on vähän semmosta huonomaineista aluetta täällä.. Mutta asunto oli ihan ok. Oon muuttamassa siis Emmin ja Kontxin kanssa yhdessä koska ne ei voi enään asua tämänhetkisessä kämpässään kämppisten takia.. Liikaa ongelmia. Mullakin on tässä kämpässä vuokrasopimus vaan helmikuulle, joten päätettiin ettiä kämppä yhessä. Löydettiin tää uus paikka saman välittäjän kautta mistä Emmin ja Kontxin tämän hetkinen kämppäkin on. Tämä kyseinen firma välittää asuntoja ja huoneita siis vaan opiskelijoille ja ihan kivaan hintaan. Meille toi kämppä jossa on siis 5 makuuhuonetta, olkkari, keittiö ja kylpyhuone, tulee maksamaan semmoset 330e kuussa suunnilleen, eli ei tosiaan paha =) Uusi osoite maaliskuun alusta on Carrer Viladomat 56. Kämppä on silleen hyvällä paikalla, että kouluun voi kävellä ja kestää n. 15 minuuttia. Eipähän mene rahaa matkakorttiin :)

The apartment that I went to see is in Raval which is an area here with a quite bad reputation.. But the place was nice though. I'm going to move there with Emmi&Kontxi because they can't live in their current apartment because of some roommates with too many problems. My place is also free for February only so we decided to try to find a place together. This new place we found via and agency that rent flats for students only. There are 5 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room and it's going to cost us about 330€/each/month so not bad at all:) The new address will be Carrer Viladomat 56 from the beginning of March. It's really near to school, about 15min by foot which is great :)

Kävelin takasin Barcelonetan kämpälle rauhassa maisemista nauttien. Kävin myös ostamassa jätskiä semmosesta tosi söpöstä paikasta nimeltä Eyescream and friends. Sait valita jätskin ja siihen kaksi lisuketta ja sitten lopuksi sille jätskille laitettiin pienet silmät, hihi. Aika kallista oli, 4,30€ mutta tosi tosi hyvää :) Kun tulin kotiin, Martin oli jo tullut ja teki taas lähtöä, tällä kertaa Saksaan. Eli edessä oli taas pari päivää yksin oloa. Ei haittaa :) Aloin vähän googlettelemaan vastauksia kouluhommiin mutta en oikeestaan saanu mitään aikaseksi.. Jossain vaiheessa totesin että hitto on kauhee nälkä mut en jaksa tehä mitään ruokaa ja samalla Emmi ehdotti että jos lähdetään ulos syömään. Sopi mulle. Nähtiin Universitatin metroasemalla Emmin ja Davidin kanssa klo 22 ja mentiin Marmaladeen syömään. Emmi oli bongannu ton paikan netistä ja hyvä paikka olikin! Testattiin listalta vähän kaikkea: David söi ribsejä, Emmi burgerin ja mä fajitaksia. Oli varmaan parhaat fajitakset ikinä. Kamerasta tietysti loppu just akku niin en saanut kunnollista kuvaa.. Mutta kokonaisuudessaan ravintola oli tosi kiva ja halpa, kallein pääruoka oli 10.50€. Emmi ja David otti vielä jälkkäritkin mitkä oli myös tosi hyviä. Varmasti mennään uudestaan:) Muutaman viinilasillisen jälkeen lähettiin kotiin nukkumaan. Ja käytin muuten ekaa kertaa taksia, koska metrot ei enää kulkenu. Maksoi 6e eli eipä paljon mitään. Niin ja kävihän mulla semmonen kämmi että mä olin unohtanu Visa Electronin kotiin joten Emmi&David joutu kustantaa mun illan :D Onneks mulla oli vähän käteistä kuitenkin.

I walked back to Barceloneta sloooowly and enjoying the views. I also bought some ice scream in this cute little shop called "Eyescream and friends." You got to choose a flavor to your ice scream and two "sides" and in the very end they added these little eyes on top of the ice scream :) It was kind of expensive, 4,30€, but totally worth it ;) When I came home, Martin was already here and packing for another trip, to Germany this time. So I got to spend the weekend on my own which was totally fine by me:) I started to "do some homework" but no way I could do it.. So I didn't :P I was getting kind of hungry and at the same time Emmi asked if I wanted to join her and David for a dinner in a restaurant and of course I did. We met at Universitat metro station at 10pm and headed to Marmalade which was a really nice restaurant that Emmi had founded online! David had ribs, Emmi a burger and I fajitas so we basically tried everything :P My camera's battery died of course so I don't have pictures, but it was a really nice and cheap place. The most expensive dish on the menu was only 10.50€ and the food was really, really good. After a few glasses of wine we went home to sleep. And yeah, I forgot my Visa Electron at home so they had to pay almost everything to me.. Including the taxi that I took home because metros didn't run anymore. But it was only 6€ so not bad!:)
