Days 120-123: Home

20.-23.5.13

Niin se aika vaan kuluu. 20.5. tultiin siis takasin Barcelonaan onnistuneen Lissabonin reissun jälkeen. Seuraavat päivät meni ihan vaan kotona "opiskellessa" ja löhöten. Mun flunssa alko vihdoin hellittää ja pääsin jo vähän urheilemaankin, 2,5 viikon tauon jälkeen! 

The time is ticking.. On 20th of May we came back to Barcelona after a successful trip to Lisbon. The following days we just "studied" and chilled at home. My flu finally started to vanish and I could start doing sports again, after 2,5 weeks!

Torstaina 23.5. mentiin todennäkösesti viimestä kertaa koko porukalla ravintolaan syömään. Mukana oli siis mun lisäksi Birte, David, Emmi, Susu ja Teemu. Mentiin taas Marketiin syömään ja ruoka oli taas super hyvää! Alkupalaksi söin Birten kanssa puoliks semmosen alkupalalautasen missä oli kaikkea mahollista. Pääruuaksi otin lohta ja jälkkäriksi taas juustokakkua. Illallisen jälkeen lähettiin vielä La Oveja Negraan sangrialle (siellä on mun mielestä Barcelonan paras sangria, tai ainakin niistä mitä mä oon maistanu ;)) ja sieltä sitten kotiin. Mä en meinannut saada unta kun mun maha oli niin täynnä haha.

On Thursday 23rd of May we went to have dinner together, possibly for the last time. We were with the basic group: me, Birte, David, Emmi, Susu and Teemu. We went to Market again and of course the food was delicious again. For starters we shared a plate with Birte which included a lot of different things. For main course I had salmon ad for dessert cheese cake again :P After the dinner we continued in La Oveja Negra with some sangria (of all the sangrias I've tasted, I think there it tastes the best:)) and after that hoooomee.  I couldn't sleep because my stomach was so full haha.

Day 119: Lisbon Day 5

Viimesenä päivänä Lissabonissa tehtiin päiväretki Ocenarioon, jee! Oltiin kumpikin sitä mieltä että oltiin suht väsyneitä kulkemaan nähtävyyksissä vailla päätä taikka häntää ja siihen että koko ajan piti arvailla että alkaako sataa vai ei. Oltiin tosi innoissamme tosta ocenariosta, se on vissiin Euroopan toisiks suurin. Koko halli oli alunperin rakennettu Lissabonin Expoa '98 varten ja jälkeenpäin sinne rakennettiin jättimäinen akvaario. Kierrettiin kaksi näyttelyä eli pysyvä ja vaihtuva. Vaihtuvassa näyttelyssä oli esillä merikilpikonnia, kuinka söpöä! Ja mikä oli kivaa, niitä ei oltu vaan tuotu sinne näytille vaan ne oli pelastettu ihmisten kynsistä ja tuotu tonne kuntoutukseen <3 Koko näyttely oli rakennettu tosi kivasti ja siellä oppikin kaikkea. Mä en tiennyt että Itämeressäkin on yksiä merikilpikonnia! Anyway, lapsenmielisinä saatiin kulutettua aikaa tonne akvaarioon yli 3 tuntia ja sitten suunnattiin takasin kämpille päikkäreille ja pakkailemaan. Illalla meidän hostilla oli taas jotain vieraita, syötiin kohteliaasti niitten kanssa vähän illallista ennen kun painuttiin pehkuihin. Aamulla olis taas lento kohti Barcelonaa ja kotia:) Kaiken kaikkiaan meillä oli ihan mahtava loma ja Birten kanssa oltiin ihan lyömätön matkustuspari! Erimielisyyksiä ei tullu kertaakaan ja kiitos myös meidän hostin, viidessä päivässä ehdittiin tehdä kaikki mitä haluttiin ja vielä vähän enemmänkin. Jee:)

On our last day we did a day trip to the ocenario, yay! We both agreed that we were pretty tired on walking around without a clue in the city and also on the weather: you never knew if it's going to rain or not. We were really excited about the ocenario, I think it is the second largest in Europe. The whole complex was built for the Expo in '98 and afterwards it was transferred into a big aquarium. We saw two different expositions: the permanent and the changing. This time at the changing exposition was SEA TURTLES, how cute! And what I really liked was that they were not just brought there, but saved from people and they were there for kind of a rehabilitation <3 The whole exposition was built very nicely and you could actually learn stuff there. Like, I had no clue that there actually are sea turtles in the Baltic Sea! Anyway, like little kids we were so thrilled about all the fish that we spent more than 3 hours in  the ocenario. Afterwards we went to the apartment to have a little nap and to pack our stuff. In the evening our host had some guests once again and we had some dinner with them before going to sleep. In the morning we would have an early flight back to Barcelona and home:) All in all, the trip was awesome and we were great travelling buddies with Birte! We had no fights or disagreements at all and also thanks to our host who made sure that we saw everything that we wanted in five days, and even more! Yay:)

Day 118: Lisbon Day 4

Niinkun arvata saattaa, nukuttiin aika pitkään seuraavana päivänä. Kun herättiin, lähettiin melkeen siltä istumalta Goncalon kyydillä Cascaikseen, joka on siis pienempi kaupunki n.25 km Lissabonin ulkopuolella. Meidän host oli alunperin sieltä kotosin, ja päästiin siis samalla kyydillä kun hän meni moikkaamaan vanhempiaan. Me jäätiin Birten kanssa pois kyydistä vähän keskustan ulkopuolella ja käveltiin muutaman kilometrin matka rannikkoa pitkin. Maisemat oli aivan uskomattomat ja ilmakin oli mitä mahtavin! Käveltiin hissukseen ja räpsittiin kuvia ja aika nopeesti saavuttiin keskustaan. Siellä ois riittänyt pitemmäksin ajaksi tekemistä mutta me tyydyttiin vaan pällistelemään paikkoja. Voisin todellakin kuvitella itteni tonne viikon löhölomalle:) Lopuksi istahdettiin vielä alas ja syötiin "kaupungin parhaat hot dogit" jotka oli nyt mitä oli :D ainakin erilaiset kun yleensä. Concalo tuli meitä keskustaan vastaan mistä jatkettiin matkaa.

As you probably could guess, we slept quite long the next day. When we woke up we left almost immediately to Cascais, a little city about 25km outside of Lisbon. Our host was originally from there and we got a lift there when he went there to see his family. We were dropped off with Birte a little bit outside of the city and we walked a few kilometers along the coast to the center. The view was just amazingly beautiful! And the weather was pretty good too! Slowly we walked to the center and took a lot of pictures on the way. There would've been a lot of things to do if we had more time but this time we just wandered around. I could totally see myself having a one week not-going-to-do-anything -vacation there;) The last thing we did was buying "the best hot dogs in town" and sat down to eat them. They were... different :P Goncalo picked us up from the center and we continued our trip.

Cascaiksesta jatkettin matkaa kohti Cabo de Rocaa, joka on Euroopan mantereen läntisin piste! Tää oli siis kokonaan meidän mahtavan hostin idea, ei me edes tiedetty koko paikasta! Tehtiin siis pieni road trip sinne ja jälleen kerran maisemat oli uskomattoman kauniit. Parin pakollisen kuvan jälkeen mentiin vielä läheiseen tosi söpöön ravintolaan ja otettiin yhdet juomat ennen kun lähdettiin pitkän päivän jälkeen takasin Lissaboniin. Ihan uskomaton päivä ja ei todellakaan oltais päästy tämmösiä juttuja kokemaan jos oltais yövytty hostellissa eikä sohvasurffattu!:)

From Cascais we continued the trip to Cabo de Roca which is the most western point in Europe (mainland). This was totally our host's idea, we didn't even know about this place! So we made a little trip there and of course once again it was amazingly beautiful there. After a few pictures we went to a very cute little restaurant with an awesome view, had some drinks there and then headed back to Lisbon. It was such an incredible day and I am sure we wouldn't have experienced these things if we were staying in a hostel instead of couch surfing!:)
