Days 88-89: HOT & Flea market

Torstaina oli ihanan lämmin ilma! Aamulla perus urheilut ja sen jälkeen mentiin taas Joan Mirón puistoon ennen koulua chillailemaan. Ensimmäinen kunnon aurinkolöhöilypäivä: lueskelin, torkuin, kokeiltiin Emmiksen kanssa vähän akrobatia juttuja... Puistosta suoraan kouluun ja illalla ei mitään ihmeempiä muistaakseni.

On Thursday the weather was really warm! In the morning we went joggin etc and then we left to PArc de Joan Miró again, to chill out before school. I read a little, slept in the sun and we tried some acrobatics things with Emmis.. Then we went to school for a few hours and in the evening we didn't do anything special. I think.

Birte 

Perjantai aamuna lähettiin Emmiksen ja Birten kanssa käymään Els Encantsin kirpparilla. Aluks oltiin vähän pettyneitä kun alkupäässä ei ollut oikeestaan kirpparia ollenkaan vaan semmosia "ammattimyyjiä" kojuineen. Kaivauduttiin vähän syvemmälle ja löydettiin hyvät mestat. Kierreltiin pari tuntia ja mukaan mahtu kaikille sitä sun tätä. Kirpparin jälkeen käytiin kahvilassa lounaalla. Otin leipää tomaatilla (paikallinen juttu, leivän päälle levitetään tomaattia), kasvismunakasta ja kahvin, kaikki tämä 4,90€. Illalla kävin vielä syömässä sedän vaimon, Pipsan, kanssa joka oli Barcelonassa pari päivää lomailemassa. Käytiin meidän lähellä yhessä tosi hyvässä ravintolassa, Market nimeltään. Otettiin alkupalaksi patatas bravas, pääruuaksi mulle tonnikalaa ja Pipsalle lohta, kummalekin jälkkärit ja jaettiin pullo viiniä, lasku näytti 43€. Hyvä kun yks ihminen syö tolla hinnalla Suomessa. Ja ravintola oli ihan heittämällä paras ja "hienoin" missä oon täällä käyny. Ravintolasta lähettiin vielä paikallisen oluenvalmistajan, Moritzin, oluthuoneeseen maistamaan Barcelonalaista olutta :) Olusten jälkeen saattelin Pipsan taksiin ja kävelin kotiin.

Haha tää oli hyvä. Varmaan tullu pariskunnalle ero ja laittanu kaiken hiirimattoa myöten myyntiin :D / Haha this was funny. Maybe the couple broke up and decided to sell everything, including their nice custom made mouse pad :D

SUOMI  FINLAND!

On Friday morning me, Emmis and Birte went to Els Encants' flea market. First we were a little bit dissapointed because the beginning of the flea market was actually "professional sellers" with all kinds of weird stuff. Anyway, we dag deeper and found the good stuff. We wandered around for a few hours and all of us found something to bring back home. After the flea market we went to a little cafeteria to have lunch. I took pan con tomate (a local thing, bread with "smashed" tomato), vegetable omelette and a coffee. All this, 4,90€. In the evening I went to a restaurant called Market with my uncle's wife who was in Bcn for a couple of days. We took patatas bravas for starters, tuna and salmon for main and chocolate muffin & cheese cake for dessert. We also shared a bottle of wine, and the bill was 43€. In Finland maybe one person would eat for that much money.. If you are lucky. And the restaurant was by far the best and "fanciest" I've been here. After eating we went to the local beer maker Moritz's cerveseria to taste their beers. From there Pipsa took a taxi and I walked home.

Day 87: International picnic

Keskiviikkona ennen koulua keräännyttiin luokkalaisten kanssa Joan Miron puistoon ottamaan aurinkoa ja syömään herkkuja. Tarkotus oli että kaikki tois jotain mitä kunkin kotimaassa syödään, mutta meille tää oli vähän hankalaa kun ei täältä oikeen saa mitään.. Vein turkinpippuripussin jonka olin saanut tuliaisena Suomesta mutta eihän niistä kukaan tietenkään tykänny :D hyvä vaan niin sain ite syödä ne hahaha. Puistosta mentiin pariks tunniks kouluun ja sieltä kotiin partsille ekoille parveke kaljoille heh. Ooteltiin myös mun kaveria Emmistä joka saapuikin siinä alkuillasta meille viikoksi asustelemaan. Illalla lähettiin Ryans Irish Pubiin koska osa meidän luokkalaisista oli menossa sinne laulamaan karaokea, mutta me ei tykätty oikeen siitä paikasta (ihan täynnä, musiikki niin kovalla ettei kuullu edes omia ajatuksia) joten mentiin viereiseen pubiin joka oli tyhjä meitä lukuunottamatta. Juotiin parit kaljat ja yhet shotit jotka joku eritäin ystävällinen ja känninen viimeistä päivää Barcelonassa oleva tyyppi halus meille ostaa. Aikasin kotiin ja unten maille!

On Wednesday we had an international picnic before school in Parc de Joan Miró. The idea was that everybody would bring something from their own country but for us it was a little bit hard. So I just brought some Finnish candy I had from Finland. And of course no one liked it hahaah. But I didn't mind, more candy for me ;) After the picnic we went to school for a few hours and then back home. We had beer at the balcony for the first time haha. In the evening my friend Emmis from Finland arrived to live with us for a week. All the four of us (me, Emmi, Emmis, Birte) went to Ryans Irish Pub because some of our class mates were going there to sing karaoke. We didn't like the place that much (full of people, music too loud) so we changed to a little pub where we were the only customers. We had a few beers and one shot which were payed by a weird guy who was in Barcelona for the last night and wanted to offer us something... Anyway, we came home quite early and went straight to bed.

14.-16.4.2013

Sunnuntaina pidettiin siivouspäivä. Siivottiin vessa lattiasta kattoon ja muualla kämpässä imuroitiin ja pestiin lattiat. Tän jälkeen lähin vielä "töihin" eli siivoomaan tuttujen kämppää Ramblan lähelle. Eli aika siivoomisen täyteinen päivä. Räpsin matkalla vähän kuvia keväisestä Barcelonasta ja eksyin myös meidän lähellä pidettäville sunnuntaimarkkinoille missä myydään lähinnä kirjoja, levyjä ja taidetta. Seuraava viikko alkoi tylsän tavallisesti koululla, urheilulla jne.

On Sunday we had a cleaning day. We basically cleaned the whole apartment, vacuumed and washed the floors etc. After all this I went to "work" meaning to clean a friend's place. A lot of cleaning for one day.. On the way there I took a few pictures of Barcelona's spring and I ended up at a market near us where they were selling books, cd's, dvd's, art.. The next week started with basic stuff: school, exercising etc.

ps. nyt on alkanu huomaamaan vaikeuksia suomenkielen kanssa! Välillä kun puhun Emmille suomeksi, saatan sanoa jotkut sanat kaks kertaa samassa lauseessa koska englanniks sanajärjestys on eri, esim. "Eilen kävin eilen lenkillä." Myös yksittäiset sanat on hukassa, ajatukset on kääntyny englanniksi jne.. 

ps. I've noticed some difficulties in speaking Finnish lately. Sometimes when I speak Finnish to Emmi, I might say words in wrong places and multiple times in one sentence because the order of words is different in English and Finnish, for example "Yesterday I went jogging yesterday." Also some words have been missing, I'm thinkin g in English etc..

Day 83: Montseny

Lauantaina lähdettiin Susun, Anan, Teemun ja Tylerin kanssa pienelle retkelle läheisen Montsenyn luonnonpuistoon. Vuokrattiin auto ja ajettiin auto vuorelle n. 1km korkeuteen ja viimeset 700m (suoraan ylöspäin, laskettiin että kävelyä tuli 5-6km per suunta) käveltiin pelkkää ylämäkeä. Noustiin korkeimman huipun, Turó de l'Homen päälle joka oli siis 1706 metrin korkeudessa! Maisemat oli aivan mahtavat ja fiilis oli myös korkeella kovan urheilusuorituksen jälkeen. Tän jälkeen oliki sitte jalat monta päivää ihan jumissa.. Mutta oli sen arvosta :) Ajateltiin että voitais vuokrata auto vielä toistekin ja mennä kiertämään toinenkin reitti, jonka varrella on vesiputouksia! Katotaan riittääkö aika, mutta ois kiva mennä sinnekin. Anyway, kiva päivä kivassa seurassa ja luonnonpuisto oli ehdottomasti käymisen arvonen.

On Saturday Susu, Ana, Teemu, Tyler and I went hiking in the natural park of Montseny. We rented a car and drove it to 1km height and hiked the last 700m (straight up, so actual walking distance was about 5-6km). We reached the highest peak, Turó de l'Home which is 1706m high! The view was so beautiful from up there and the feeling after climbing that high was quite rewarding too. And afterwards my legs were in so much pain haha. But it was worth it. We thought that we could maybe rent a car again and go hiking again in a different place where there is supposed to be waterfalls! We'll see if we have time for it but it would be fun. Anyway, such a nice day with nice people and the natural park was definitely worth visiting.

Days 80-82: La Roca Village

10.-12.4.2013

Ke+To lenkkeilyä, lihaskuntoa, venyttelyä, koulua, chillailua, ruokaostoksia (LIDL löydetty!= ruisleipää, raejuustoa, rahkaa, kermaviiliä jne jne <3) ja kaikkea muuta ihan tavallista! Ihania ilmoja, aurinko paistaa ja tosi lämmintä.

Wednesday and Thursday: jogging, exercising, stretching, school, chilling, groceries (we found LIDL! = rye bread, cottage cheese, quark, sour cream etc <3) and all the normal things. Beautiful weathers, sun was shining and a warm temperature!

Perjantaina lähettiin bussilla La Roca Villageen, joka on Barcelonan ulkopuolella oleva outlet kylä. Bussimatkat edes-takasin 12€, ei mikään paha. Mentiin ekalla bussilla klo 9, odoteltiin kauppojen avautumista kahvilassa ja klo 10 alko armoton shoppailu (tai no muilla, mutta mulla ei niinkään). Kylässä oli enimmäkseen design juttuja, mitkä nyt ei ihan oo se mun juttu. Mukaan tarttu kuitenkin erittäin kovaan tarpeeseen tulleet uudet juoksukengät Nikeltä, hintaa 49€! Tykkään kovasti :) Me oltiin Birten kanssa valmiita yhden kierroksen jälkeen siinä klo 12 jälkeen, mutta Emmi ja Ana veti vielä toisen rundin kun me istuttiin kahvilassa ja odoteltiin. Oli ihan järkyttävän KUUMA. Joka tapauksessa siis jos kiinnostaa design tuotteet hyvillä alennuksilla, kannattaa käydä! TÄSTÄ pääsette paikan nettisivuille missä näkyy kaikki merkit ja info mitä tarvii.

On Friday we took a bus to La Roca VIllage which is an outlet village right outside of Barcelona. The return ticket was 12€, ok. We took the first bus at 9am and waited for the shops to open in a cafeteria. At 10am we started our first round in the village and the ruthless shopping (or the others did). Most of the things there are designer stuff and since I'm not that into those kinds of things, I didn't find much. I did buy new running shoes which I really needed, from Nike for only 49€. After one round me and Birte were done but Emmi&Ana went for a second one. We chose to wait and sunbath on a terrace haha. It was SUPER hot, me likey. Anyway, if you are interested in cheap designer stuff, you should go. All the shops and information you can find HERE.

Days 78-79: Fun and not so much fun...

Maanantaina nukuttiin aika pitkään, ja kun herättiin, lähettiin samantien lounaalle/aamupalalle Annan kanssa, joka palaili Suomesta takaisin tänne Espanjaan. Ulkona oli ihan kiva ilma, niin vaan kevät on saapunut tännekin:) Syötiin ja rupateltiin siinä parin tunnin ajan ennen kun mun piti lähteä kouluun ja Annan juna-asemalle ja kohti Valenciaa. Mä menin koulussa vaan yksille tunneille, jonka jälkeen otin taksin Barcelonetaan missä Ramon jo odottelikin mua. Käytiin syömässä ihan kivassa ravintolassa rannan tuntumassa. Istuttiin siellä aika pitkään ja otettiin taksi kotiin, ja tänne tultiin viettämään viimestä iltaa yhdessä ties kuinka pitkään aikaan... Katottiin Django Unchained (tai alotettiin, ei jaksettu kattoa loppuun asti kun tuli väsy) ja sitten unille.

On Monday we slept quite long and when we woke up we went straight out to have lunch/breakfast with Anna who just came back from Finland. The weather was really nice and finally the spring has arrived in Barcelona too! We ate and talked for a couple of hours before I had to go to school and Anna to the railway station. I only took one of my classes at school and after that I took a taxi to Barceloneta where Ramon already waited for me. We had some dinner in an ok restaurant near the beach. We sat there for a quite long time and then took a taxi home, where we spent the last evening together.. We started to watch Django Unchained but basically fell asleep in the middle because we were just so tired. 

Seuraavana aamuna heräiltiin rauhassa ja pistettiin leffa pyörimään. Katottiin Django loppuun, ja oli kyllä hyvä leffa. Ja se on paljon jos mä jostain elokuvasta tykkään, kun yleensä en jaksa kattoa ollenkaan. Aamupäivä meni kauheen nopeesti ja ihan liian nopeesti tuli aika lähteä lentokentälle. Yritettiin jotain vähän syödä kentällä mutta ei siitä kauheesti mitään tullu. Ei muuta kun turvatarkastusta kohti ja sinne se Ramon taas lähti.. Seisoin toisella puolella niin kauan kunnes ei enää nähny yhtään mitään. Sitten vaan ihan pää tyhjänä bussi takasin Placa de Espanyalle ja siitä koululle. Ilta menikin suht pöhnässä ja aikasin nukkumaan.

The next morning we woke up in peace and put the movie on again. We finished Django and I have to say it was a really good movie. And that's a lot from someone who doesn't even like movies. The morning passed by realy quickly and too soon it was time to leave to the airport once again. At the airport we tried to eat something but neither of us quite couldn't. So, to the security check, and there he went again.. I stood on the other side as long as I could see anything and then took the bus back to Placa de Espanya and walked to school.  The rest of the day just went by.. Didn't do anything.

ps. unohtunu kertoa tällaset kaks suht oleellista asiaa: loman aikana tuli s-postia että meidän koulu muuttaa koska yhtäkkiä me ei enään mahutakaan sinne vanhaan.. hmm.. ollaan nyt siis n.10min kävelymatkan verran kauempana kuin ennen, eli ihan ok. Toinen juttu: meidän pesukone hajos. Brunssipäivänä huomattiin että kylppärin lattia on ihan täynnä vettä ja jouduttiin sulkemaan vesi kokonaan. Asia on kuitenkin hoidettu ja nyt meillä on uusi hieno pesukone. Tällä hetkellä jääkaappi osottaa ikääntymisen merkkejä, jospa se nyt tän pari kuukautta jaksais..

ps. I totally forgot to tell you a few things. First: during my vacation I got an e-mail that our school is going to move since we can't fit in it anymore??.... hmm.. Anyway, now we are about 10minutes walk further than before, so it's ok. Second: Our laundry machine broke. On the brunch day we noticed that our bathroom is full of water and we had to shut down the whole water thingy.. But the issue is now taken care of and now we have a brand new washing machine. At this moment our fridge is showings some signs of ageing but hopefully it will last for a few months more..

Day 77: "Brunch"

Sunnuntaina meidän oli tarkotus lähteä brunssille. Oltiin aika myöhään liikenteessä ja kaikki paikat oli jo täynnä, joten päädyttiine ehkä maailman järkyttävimpään aamupalapaikkaan. Yritettiin tilata litran sangria jaettavaksi neljälle (minä, Ramon, Birte, Emmi) mutta saatiinki kaikki omat. Hups. Surkuhupaisan aamiaisen jälkeen oltiin pikku hiprakassa ja todettiin että miks heittää päivä hukkaan, joten jatkettiin. Kuvat kertokoon enemmän, mutta pidettiin pieni pub crawl Parallelilla, käytiin Magic Fountainilla, pidettiin pienet olkkaribileet... Ja illalla jatkettiin W hotellin yökerhossa. Joopajoo.

Our plan for Sunday was to have a brunch but we were quite late and ended up in possibly the worst breakfast place ever. We tried to order 1L of sangria to share it with the four of us (me, Ramon, Emmi, Birte) but instead we all got our own sangrias. Well, after our "brunch" we were a little tipsy and decided not to waste it, and continued. The pictures will tell more, but we had a little pub crawl at Parallel, went to the Magic Fountain, had a little livingroom-party.. And continued our night at the W hotel.
