On the road: Days 153&154: Marseille, Cannes, Nice

Sunnuntaiaamu alkoi erittäin letkeissä tunnelmissa: mentiin tyttöjen kanssa altaalle suunnilleen tunniksi riehumaan ja rentoutumaan :) jatkettiin siitä aamutouhuilla ja päivällä lähettiin kohti Marseillen keskustaa. Morad vei meidät ensin autolla korkealle vuorille missä sijaitsi Marseillen Notre Dame. Käytiin kiertämässä se ensin, olihan se aikas vaikuttava. Ja maisemat myös! Sieltä lähettiin sitten alaspäin bussilla ja kierreltiin päivä keskustassa. Käytiin myös luonnonhistoriallisessa museossa joka oli loppujen lopuksi aika floppi :D mutta tulipahan käytyä. Se itse museo oli kyllä tosi hieno ja sitä ympäröivät puistot myös mutta ite näyttely ei nyt tällä kertaa meitä säväyttänyt haha. Jatkettiin siitä matkaa vielä satamaan ja sieltä sitten metrolla takasin kämpille. Illalla ei tehty kummempia kun kateltiin seuraavien kohteiden asioita selviksi ja yritettiin mennä ajoissa nukkumaan..

Sunday morning was pretty chilled: we woke up and went straight to the pool and went totally crazy haha. For an hour we goofed around and then continued with shower and breakfast. In the afternoon Morad drove us to a hill in Marseille where the Notre Dame of Marseille was situated. The Notre Dame itself was quite impressive but so was the view too! After visiting it we continued down the hill to the center of Marseille. We visited the museum of natural history which maybe wasn't the best idea: the museum as a building was beautiful and the parks around it as well but the exhibition wasn't that good hhaha. From the museum we continued to the harbour and then back to the apartment. In the evening we did some research on the next destinations and tried to go to bed early..

Seuraavana aamuna oli rapsakka herätys klo 5.45 ja ei muuta kun kohti juna-asemaa taasen. Suunnaksi otettiin Cannes ja ensimmäinen epäonni matkassa tuli vastaan kun siellä ei ollutkaan matkatavarasailöä. Lähettiin kiertämään läheisiä hotelleja jos niihin sais jättää, ja ensimmäinen joka avas meille ovensa olikin suomalaisnaisen ylläpitämä hotelli! Pieni maailma. Jätettiin kamat sinne, syötiin kakkosaamupalat ja lähettiin kiertämään kaupunkia, pariksi tunniksi. Ilma oli jäätävän kuuma ja meillä oli tietysti pitkät housut jalassa ja silleen.. Pari tuntia me jaksettiin kierrellä ja kattella isoja veneitä ja sitten matka jatkui taas, Nizzaan. Cannes oli ihan jees, tietysti aika kallista mutta ei nyt niin kallista kun oletin. Että jos ihan tavallisella lomalla olis siellä niin vois esim. syödä hyvin suht kohtuu rahalla!

The next morning we woke up 5.45, yay, and then to the railway station once again. We took a train to Cannes and there we faced the first problem: no luggage storage. We decided to ask from the hotels nearby if they could store them and the first one to say yes was actually owned by a Finn! Small world. WE left the bags there, went to eat a second breakfast and then walked around the city for a couple of hours. The weather was really hot and of course we were wearing way too much clothes... For a few hours we went around and looked at the big boats and then we took another train, to nice. Cannes was pretty nice but of course a little bit expensive for us. But if I would be there on a "normal" vacation, it wouldn't be that expensive though.

Nizzassa oltiin iltapäivästä ja suunnattiin heti ekaks meidän hostellille. Hostelli oli halvin mitä löydettiin ja sekin oli 22,95/yö eli ei mikään halpa todellakaan, joten oltiin sovittu että muutetaan alkuperästä suunnitelmaa ja ollaan vaan yks yö Nizzaaa. Hostelli oli kyllä tosi jees, isot yhteiset tilat ja täysin varusteltu keittiö missä tehtiinkin oikeen super nuudelit ennen kun lähettiin vielä tutustumaan keskustaan. Mentiin tietysti ensin sinne kuuluisalle rannalle ja rantbulevardille, olihan siellä nättiä! Ite oon kerran aiemminkin käyny Nizzassa mutta muille tytöille tais olla ensimmäinen kerta. Oltiin aika poikki Cannesin ja junailujen jälkeen joten ei sen enempää kierrelty, vaan käytiin ostamassa macaroneja ja viiniä ja pistettiin leiri pystyyn pieneen puistoon. Istuttiin siinä kunnes aurinko alko laskemaan, käveltiin hostellille takasin, suunniteltiin taas vähän tulevaa ja otettiin pari olutta ja lähettiin nukkumaan!

We arrived in Nice in the afternoon and first headed to the hostel. It was the cheapest we found and still it was 22,95€/night so definitely not the cheapest one on Earth and thus we all agreed that we would stay in Nice only one night instead of two. The hostel was really nice though, big common areas and a fully equipped kitchen where we cooked some noodles and stuff before going to the city. First we went to see the famous beach and of course it was really beautiful! I've been in Nice once before but for the other girls it was the first time. We were quite tired after Cannes so we decided to buy a bottle of wine, some macarons and went to a park. We sat and drank there until the sun started to set and went back to the hostel. There we made some plans again, had a few beers and then night night!
